TacFast Core Technology

All of TacFast’s technologies are based on detachable systems of attachment. Many of the TacFast Flooring Products feature a free-floating substrate with a hook element covering its surface (the LocPlate™ Products) and a flooring surface with a loop fabric covering the underside. The flooring surface is attached to the hook substrate by engaging the hooks and loops creating a mechanical bond that holds the flooring surface in place securely, yet is releasable.

All TacFast Flooring Products are composed of two parts:

• a substrate that has a hook surface; and
• a surface material which has a loop fabric covering its entire underside.

At the core of TacFast’s technology is the mechanical fastening of hook and loop. The strengths in TacFast’s hook and loop mechanical fastening have been designed to meet the specific characteristics required to have a permanent, yet detachable floor covering. The TacFast hook on the LocPlate™ Product substrate has been engineered to aggressively hold the flooring surface in place with high shear (horizontal) and tensile (vertical) strengths while at the same time providing a minimum peel strength allowing for easy removal of the flooring surfaces.

TacFast and the Environment

At TacFast, we believe that creating, producing, installing and using our products should contribute to a sustainable environment. As an organization, TacFast addresses environmental considerations on two fronts – the first is as a corporation, working towards reducing our carbon footprint, the second is with our products and methods of use. TacFast® products are manufactured in an ISO 9002.2002 TS 16949 facility. The manufacturing processes employed are under continual review to assess their environmental impact.

The environmentally conscientious Hook Plate and Disc substrate eliminates the need for liquid adhesives and other installation materials. Made from inert polypropylene resins, the LocPlate™ products are inherently hygienic as they will not absorb moisture and therefore will not promote the growth of mold, mildew, bacteria or fungus. Requiring no adhesives and good for multiple closures, hook and loop mechanical fastening is both functional and environmentally responsible.

As the LocPlate™ products are free-floating; they can be moved, reused and ultimately recycled with ease after their 25 year life expectancy. And, TacFast is currently working to incorporate post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content into the LocPlate™ products. From realizing the benefits of dematerialization in the TacFast installation process to reclamation and eventual recycling, TacFast® products are uniquely positioned to sustain and improve our surroundings.

TacFast Surface Options

We work with many quality flooring manufacturers after rigorous testing of their products to ensure they are compatible with the Tacfast system. Products such as LVT or Luxury vinyl tile, recycled rubber flooring,T-Rex recycled rubber tiles, commercial carpet, hardwood flooring and ceramic tile are all available.

Partners such as Beaulieu Commercial (PURE Contract commercial carpet), Dynaflex Rubber and a variety of luxury vinyl tile manufacturers continue to grow with us.
